Thickness of Baby Floor Mats for Crawling

Many parents will prepare baby floor mats for crawling for their babies, which are convenient for them to crawl and as playground for them to play. However, what thickness is better for the crawling mats?

This problem is also a concern for parents when they make the choice.

1. Outdoor: the crawling mat should not be too thin because the baby may hurt knees. In theory, the larger the thickness, the better the protection of the baby. Thus, it should be about 1 cm. If you want to take into account the convenience of going out, just choose an appropriate one.

2. Indoor: if you want to use the mat indoor, the thickness should be about 2 cm or larger which can prevent injuries from falling down. It also should be moisture proof and can prevent the baby from getting the cold. If there is underfloor heating at home, you can choose a thickness of 0.5 cm, otherwise 1.2 cm one is more suitable. It is not that the thicker, the better. A suitable one is the best. If you want to take it out for outdoor use, a thin one is better.

In addition, parents should also take the seasons and the months of babies into consideration. Different seasons should have different thickness of the mats. If your baby is only several months, our advice is that the choice should be a thicker one that will prevent the baby from hurt when falling down or crawling.
